When should I hire an interior designer?

As early as possible! We love to be involved from the very start of your project to help you set the vision we’ll be executing. Whether you’re looking at homes and need advice as to whether or not the home is the right fit visually and functionally for what you want, or you’re ready to renovate your existing home and need advice and guidance on cost, feasibility and timeline, our design consultations are the perfect way to get a feel for the value we can add to your project.

What scope of services does Nine Dot Design offer?

You can find an overview of our services here but, broadly speaking, we work closely with you to reenvision your space and to transform it through thoughtful, intentional design. We can act in a consultative capacity on smaller projects but we are equally comfortable liaising with contractors, architects, engineers and the like on extensive remodels and renovations. With our flexible model and our vetted network of industry professionals, we can scale support on a project up or down according to your needs.

What value does Nine Dot Design add to my project?

There are several ways working with a designer can present cost savings. Most importantly, we save you time. Our expertise means we know how to best layout a space and what to look for when it comes to fixtures and furnishings. We also have access to vendors and tradespeople that those outside of the industry may not. In addition, when we make purchases on your behalf we do so with our trade discount which means you never pay more than retail and often pay quite less.

I need help defining my style/establishing a design direction. Can you still help?

Absolutely! We love getting to know our clients and pride ourselves on our intuitive ability to draw out exactly what you need. Through a mix of guided exercises and attentive listening, we’ll help create a design plan customized to suit you.

What should I do before I contact Nine Dot Design?

To prepare for your call it can be helpful to have this information: what spaces you want to work on; whether you are looking for help with furniture & decor, remodeling, or a mix of both; your ideal timeline; and your estimated budget.

How long will my project take?

Generally speaking, small to medium-sized projects take roughly 3-6 months to complete and large, whole house or remodeling projects take anywhere from 6-12+ months. Once you book a design consultation with us, we can better speak to the estimated project duration once we have eyes and ears on the space and once we have discussed your desired scope and design goals.

How involved in the process will I need to be?

Our aim is to take a collaborative approach with our clients. The best results come from a true partnership where we’re able to merge your vision with our design expertise. The most important part of your work comes at the beginning of the project when we are setting the design aesthetic and functionality. From there, we take the reins and handle all of the details!

What's your design philosophy?

We believe where you spend your time plays an important role in your overall health and happiness. That’s why we integrate principles of biophilic design and take cues from the natural world to create spaces that look as good as they feel. At the end of the day, we want you to absolutely love your space! We believe that we draw energy from the spaces we inhabit and we aim to not only make your space look good, but most importantly, feel good.
